Community music has a rich and varied history in Potsdam, NY.  In 2010, the concept of a community band was resurrected – a band in which all adult musicians who play traditional wind band instruments are welcome. The response from players was overwhelming, and 84 musicians debuted the Potsdam Community Band’s first performance in 25+ years on July 10.  The band has played dozens of concerts since then.  The concert in January 2024 will be part of our 14th season.

The Potsdam Community Band welcomes all adult woodwind, brass, and percussion players. Talented high school students may participate with their music teacher’s recommendation and their parent/guardian’s signature.
